What to expect in your first session?
If we visit over the phone and you agree to schedule a session, here are a few things you might like to know:
- My sessions last 50 minutes. Don't worry about the clock that's my job.
- It is perfectly okay to cry, I have Kleenex! Lots of it!
- It may be hard to talk about some things at first. Be patient, things become easier.
- Yes, what you say is confidential. The only time I would break confidence is if I believe you would hurt yourself, someone else or if a child is in danger. Other than that, you can rest assured nothing leaves our time together.
- Fees are due after each session. We will cover the fee on our phone call before we meet so there will be no surprises.
- We may talk about anything you like. But, don't worry, I'll get you started.
- Remember you are in a safe place. It's okay to explore new thoughts, ideas and beliefs.
